BIOGRAPHY:
The Black Family. The prestigious, noble, pureblooded family of Black. The family that believed in the conventional workings of the wizard-world, punishing all those who thought otherwise. Druella, the mother of a beautifully wicked child in the year of nineteen fifty one, insisted on drilling the ways of ole into Bellatrix. Not that she necessarily needed to, for Bellatrix agreed fully and knew from her birth that she haled from a royal family. Most others paled in comparison to the Black family in both family and blood, harboring “blood traitors” and mudbloods, feigning acceptance. However, the pristine, young Bellatrix refused to believe such powerful families would allow their heritage to be forsaken, shunning them for their decisions and love. Instead, she turned to take pride in her own family, learning the family tree and accomplishments along with her two younger sisters. Accompanying the knowledge of the family’s grand tree came the lessons on etiquette and style. Druella insisted that all of her daughters were worthy heirs to their family, intrusting each with enough education to surpass their first year at the evitable Hogwarts. However, when Narcissa was born, Druella was content to let Bellatrix be ‘mentored’, in a sense, by her father. His tough teachings eventually lead to her outbreaks and tantrums.
At age eleven, Bellatrix was sorted immediately into Slytherin, followed a few years later by her sisters. Slytherin became similar to a sanctuary; a shelter from the mudbloods and “blood traitors” alike. There, most her house-mates held the same ideals as she did, making equals easier to find. Even then, though, Bellatrix was convinced that her family reigned supreme, above all others. Thus, when the witch learned of the betrayal and treachery performed by her own dear cousin, Sirius, the fact that he was a Gryffindor became significant along with the rest of his deeds. His nature disgusted her to the point of personally disowning the boy, displaying her extreme loyalty to the Noble House of Black. During her later years at Hogwarts, Bellatrix fell into a group of Slytherins, including Lucius Malfoy, Evan Rosier, Eric Avery, and Severus Snape. Often she got the group into unnecessary trouble-- starting fights with Sirius whenever she found herself near him. Later on, when Eric proved himself to be rather weak, Bellatrix preyed on him. In retaliation, Snape created the 'Sectumsempra' spell to use against Bella, hoping that it would make her leave him alone. However, Avery's use of the spell landed Bellatrix in St. Mungos for her serious injuries. The cuts left no scars, but even now the woman harbors deep hate for her attacker, and his accomplice.
Near the end of her education at Hogwarts, Bellatrix’s parents arranged a marriage to the wizard by the name of Rodolphus Lestrange. After graduation, the two married, as was expected of her from her family. Rodolphus was pureblooded, and from another quite prestigious family. Her mother proved very pleased by the arrangement; however, Bellatrix was dismayed. She harbored no love for Rodolphus and was not happy being married to him. At the same time, Narcissa went after and captured the heart of Lucius Malfoy and Andromeda was thus shunned from the Black family, disowned ungraciously and unmercifully, for marrying one Ted Tonks: a mudblood. This betrayal by Bellatrix’s sister deeply affected the woman, shattering her delicate ability to love. As a result, Bellatrix became overly bitter towards nearly everyone, shunning those she once cared a great deal for. After the fatal blow of disowning a sister, Bellatrix searched for a new way to live. Her desires were answered by the promising rising group of wizards that worked for the destruction of mudbloods and half bloods alike. At the same time that Bellatrix received her dark mark, she developed an obsession for the Dark Lord. It was a crazed kind of affection, most likely sparked by the extreme amount of respect and adoration she had for him for simply leading the group.
Graduating meant the freedom to envelope herself into the Death Eaters fully, in which she did so almost immediately. Her goals had been similar to the Dark Lord’s upon her enlisting, however, while she continued to climb the ranks to become one of the Dark Lord’s lieutenants, her obsession grew fueled by the desire to please. Her goal became only to gain the favor of the Dark Lord, casting her husband behind in the apathetic darkness. When the Dark Lord was ‘destroyed’, Bellatrix refused to believe the Dark Lord had simply disappeared. In her deluded sense of righteous loyalty, Bella remained in pursuit of her Master, ending in the attempt to gain information from Alice and Frank Longbottom in nineteen eighty-one: as they were part of the Order and Aurors within the wizarding world. After torturing the couple to the point of insanity, assisted by her husband Rodolphus, his brother Rabastan, and Barty Crouch Jr., the couple were sent to St. Mungo’s. After the four Death Eaters were caught, Bellatrix stood trial only to freely admit her allegiance with the Dark Lord. She promised the courtroom that she would be rewarded upon his return for her loyalty whilst sitting in her chair as if it were her throne.
